Mrs Prema Subaskaran


Introducing Our Chairperson

Prema Subaskaran is a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist, with a particular focus on helping people from the developing world access the medical care that they need. She founded LycaHealth in 2015, as Chairperson, oversees the operational and strategic development of the business, including expansion into new markets and the overall running of the centres. This includes leading on the opening of LycaHealth’s Canary Wharf clinic in 2015 and the subsequent opening of two further centres across the world, including that of Westminster Healthcare in Channai, which opened in 2016 and was endorsed by the British Prime Minister, Theresa May. Prema is also the co-founder of the Gnanam Foundation, set up in 2010 to provide opportunities and support to the most vulnerable people and communities all over the world, particularly India, Sri Lanka and parts of Africa. She also spearheads Lyca Group’s CSR initiatives, including, most recently, the funding of pivotal work by Alzheimer’s Research UK focused on educating and empowering Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities about the disease, its identification and prevention. Prema has a Masters in Biomedical science. She is the Winner of the Asian Voice Political and Public Life Business Person of the Year Award 2018 at the House of Commons and Global Officials of Dignity Awards (G.O.D) Distinguished Woman of the Year 2017 at UN for humanitarian services.

Sen Kandiah


Introducing Our Co-Founder and Director

Sen Kandiah has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, where he has served on the boards of several leading companies and in the last 20 years has set up 25 highly successful diagnostic and healthcare centres. He specialises in finding innovative solutions to complex problems, creating value through his entrepreneurial skills and developing productive and influential relationships. Sen established and was the Managing Director and a shareholder of Medical Diagnostic & Imaging Group ­- a private medical diagnostic centre in the UK ­– where he opened four diagnostic centres within four years with an enterprise value of £33m. Sen’s healthcare market involvement began in 1992, as a founding member and the Finance Director of Lodestone Patient Care Ltd. From the outset, Sen was instrumental in devising the corporate and financing frameworks for Lodestone – a company which, over the years, has developed 15 centres, including 7 PFI arrangements with NHS UK. In 2001, Sen played a key role as the Financial Director by assisting the founding shareholders to sell their shares in Lodestone for £25m to Medical Imaging Australasia, an Australian trade buyer. He then became the group’s Chief Finance Officer and oversaw two further acquisitions, Omni Labs for £15m and Health South UK for £20m.
Prior to Lodestone, Sen joined L&R Leisure Group where he became the Group Finance Director. His key achievements included the re-financing of Windsor Station Property in the UK for £30m in 1991, as well as the Royal Scotsman Luxury train. Sen’s career started in finance with the Bank of Ceylon and he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He is very active in advising SME start-ups and expansions, and has a demonstrable track record in this regard. Sen is on the National Policy Forum of the UK Labour Party and a member of Better Politics Commission. Sen is well known and respected within political and diplomatic community for his political engagement work in UK.

Shanthini Arunthavanathan

Qualified CIMA with a practicing membership from ACCA , Shanthini has been instrumental in formulating Westminster’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives. And with over ten years of practice in advisory services, financial accounting, process development and internal audits with KPMG, Deloitte, Treeline, Saico Healthcare, Green Field Bio Plantation, she also brings a wealth of experience overlooking our healthcare transaction processing system.Since the conceptualization of Westminster, Shanthini has driven the administration and risk management operations as well as developed the financial and operations strategy with metrics for an ongoing development.
